The Mat-Su Second Amendment Task Force
The stated mission of the Mat-Su Second Amendment Task Force is as follows:
To defend, protect and preserve our Creator-given right to bear arms as defined in the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution; with a focus on confronting any and all external threats to this right!
Mat-Su 2ATF, along with the able assistance of Alaska's attorney General, recently had struck from the Law Books of the City of Palmer, a Law that had prevented both concealed and open carry of handguns and weapons within the City boundaries. Up to the time of that law's removal the infraction had been a civil penalty!
The Mat-Su Second Amendment Task Force stands vigilant in support of Citizen Rights to the legal ownership, possession, use, carry of firearms and weapons of any type or fashion. In the ver near future we see the probability of an overt attack on our unrestricted ownership of firearm in our Republic. We, the Men and Women of the Mat-Su Second Amendment Task Force, stand united against such an effort, and therefore invite you to join us, both in name and number, to stop such an effort.
We meet every Tuesday evening at 7pm, in the Mat-Su Family Restaurant, on the east end of the ShopRite Mall in Wasilla; along the Parks Highway. We cordially invite you to join us! The food is great, and the fellowship is warm and productive.
The mission of the Second Amendment March is to galvanize the courage and resolve of Americans; to petition our elected officials against establishing anti-gun legislation; and to remind America that the Second Amendment is necessary to maintain our right to self defense.
It is the one right that protects all others.
We will accomplish our mission by a peaceful march in Washington DC, the United States Capitol, supported by satellite marches to State Capitols and smaller cities all across America.
The march in D.C. will take place on Monday, April 19, 2010 on the grounds of the Washington Monument.
Our Three alaskan 2ATF Groups are planning mirror-image events in our respective communities also on april 19th.
Events will begin with a rally, with invited guest speakers and readings, to be followed by a ½ mile march along the parks highway, concluding with a pot-luck picnic. Alaska's efforts are being supported by the National March Group, but we still need the support of our respective communities and citizens to bring this goal into being. |
